Ruth and Paul are at the top of their game in service and loving on their guests. I find it hard to believe it is just my wife and I that get this level of treatment, but, every time we stay here, fresh pastries, champagne, and overall kindness on the property. The house is beautiful with an amazing view and comfortable bed. Ruth and Paul could not be a better host, they anticipate all your needs. With special little treats and surprises throughout your stay. We will definitely be back again.

We had an AMAZING stay at the Wave House , Oceanfront Retreat!! This place has the closest waterfront room that we could find and it did not disappoint! The view was beautiful from the room and balcony! Ruth and Paul were the most generous and friendly hosts we have ever encountered! They gave wonderful advice on things to do, places to eat and surprised us with the yummiest snacks and breakfasts… and made my birthday trip extra special! I HIGHLY recommend a visit to Half Moon Bay and a stay at the Wave House!! We are hoping to go back again someday! Randy & Sherri

We have been coming to Half Moon Bay for 15 years and have stayed in many places. This is by far the best accommodation to date. The location is a stone's throw from the ocean with crashing waves that lull you off to sleep. You can see the entire cost line. The unit has a nice balcony to gaze at the view, watch the sea lions frolic, and people-watch. The bed was comfortable and large and you could see the ocean through the massive windows without even getting out of bed. The room was clean and nicely decorated. There is a small fridge, microwave, and a Keurig coffee maker. The owner / hosts (Ruth & Paul) left a pint of milk in the fridge and some sparkling water, and a some k-cups. It was our anniversary weekend and we were surprised by a nice bottle of champagne upon arrival. Each evening and morning, they left some treats outside our door (fresh-baked cookies, fresh fruit, fresh muffins, mixed nuts). The communication was excellent. They reached out to us the day before we arrived offering early check-in. Then on our last morning, they offered us a late check-out. These were wonderful surprises. The bathroom is spacious with a big jetting tub for two. There were guests staying in the other rooms but I never saw a soul. It was so peaceful and felt very private. We will absolutely stay here in the future and feel so lucky to have stumbled across this little slice of costside paradise. Thank you, Ruth and Paul, for a wonderful weekend.
